Just a quick question.

Is all I have to look forward to, is being a scapegoat for the next 50 years?

I don't post here very much.

Haven't for months now.

There's reasons for this.

A) I started the blog so I could see what interested Michelle and others about this "blogging" thing. Check.
B) I got interested in FFXI, which -- of course-- siphoned all of my free time. Check.
C) I was employed by a really shitty company once removed, and didn't feel like spreading my vitriol hither and yon. Check.
D) There is no D). There is only ZOOL.
E) I was unemployed and spending all my time on B). Check.
F) Employed again, but going to be working weird hours.

That's a rundown of what life's been throwing at me recently. just keeping updated.

You're The Dictionary!

by Merriam-Webster

You're one of those know-it-all types, with an amazing amount of
knowledge at your command. People really enjoy spending time with you in very short
spurts, but hanging out with you for a long time tends to bore them. When folks
really need an authority to refer to, however, you're the one they seek. You're an
exceptional speller and very well organized.

Hey, what's this? A blog entry less than a month from the last one?

....

No, basically just saying hi.

Too fucking tired and wore out and frustrated with just about every thing in my life except Michelle right now.

Alright, one month later I've decided to update my situation.

OK: Michelle: Great chick. Wonderful. My increasing dissatisfaction with my job hasn't tempered her care for me one iota. Took me out for dinner last night, just to get me out of the house. Recap of dinner: pfefferwurst== Bad. Gluwein == Good. She gets frustrated with my online tendencies, sure. She does realize, however, that my frustration with my job leads me to want to escape a bit, relax, recharge the batteries. If it wasn't sittin' in front of my computer with FFXI, it's be sittin' reading a book or two or three. I need some "not-me" time to keep the ol' batteries in gear, and so I don't throw a fit due to work stresses. It is somewhat of a relief to go out and kill some Quadavs. =)

Work: The last three weeks I have had some 'help' from the Company. The first two saw a person that wasn't much help, being as he didn't show up until 11 and had an attitude about the whole thing. This one, however, is great. He worked solo for the Company for three years in California, so he knows exactly what I'm going through. The doubts, the feeling that the Company is trying to get rid of you by overworking you, etc. However, he believes that at least two people are necessary to get the job done, and coming from him (three years solo, remember) it should carry some weight. Should. Remember, we're dealing with a company that cares far far more about the bottom line than the quality of the Job Being Done. Not Dell, either. I'm speaking of the middle company. They did just recently get purchased, however. Might be some changes. Was told that they really like the job I'm doing, how well I'm getting along with people there, etc. Of course, we'll see how well they like me when the contract isn't renewed because I'm overworked.

The Game: Michelle's playtime has gone down, due to influx of school-related stuff, like reading, homework and tests and things. She also doesn't enjoy the game quite like I do. But, however, she does like it. Got her little chipmunk critter up to level 10 in secondary job last night, hoping to get her first job up to level 20 tonight. Or more. =)

Me: Stressed, as usual. Vomiting every weekday morning because of nervousness/stress about the upcoming day's work is Not A Good Thing. Not Even A Little Bit. Hopefully things will get better soon, but my resume is out there, and it's not a bad looking one. Sticking with this job until something better comes along or this job peters out in September. Which I think it will.

/me

Ok, an update. Long time coming, just been sidetracked.

Final Fantasy XI has been soaking up my non-Michelle free time. Great game. Enjoyable. Lots to do. Highly recommended to those that enjoy MMORPGs. (I can't really say that, as this is the first one I've played, but from what I've seen and heard, this is a really good game compared to the other ones out there.)

Michelle and I are gearing up for Christmas. I have to work today (am on lunch now) and tomorrow, but then I'm off 'til the 29th and 30th. Then I'm off 'til the 2nd. Not a bad deal there, I don't think.

Getting annoyed at the Company, though. I bust my ass all day every day to keep things in order, and I don't get word one of appreciation. None. Not a word. Just "you need to do this better," or "You think you might be able to get done soon?"

I spent all morning working on a HP 8500 printer-- huge printer. Changed one of the main assemblies in it. Going to go back there after lunch and finish it out. Probably won't kill but 2-3 tickets today because of that.

Will I get kudos for being able to correctly diagnose and fix a printer that I'm not qualified to fix? Nope. I'll get spoken to about the low number of tickets closed today. Blah. No win situation.

Michelle rules.

Been about three weeks since I last posted, I see. Oy.

Well, what's been happening.

Work: Work is going better. From what I heard, Daniel's report only mentioned three things that "concerned" him about my work. And they weren't work-related.
1. The condition of the office (it was a total disaster area)
2. Paperwork and processes (we ironed those out during his week here)
3. I smoke on campus. (Daniel's job entails him working in K-12 environments, where there is no tolerance for smoking and rightly so. Bit more liberal about it on ISU's campus)

I've been able to keep tickets under control for the most part. It's going to get rough as end-of-semester comes nearer.

Michelle: Going great. Had a few conversations where she aired out concerns (and I can't say that her concerns were groundless). Mostly about how I fixate when I get a new "toy." When I get a new movie, I tend to want to watch /all/ of that movie, including extras. Get a new game, I want to play the game until it's done, and then go about worrying about the sidequests. When I get a new book, I want to read it cover-to-cover before doing /anything/ else.

This isn't a good attitude to have when you're building a foundation for a relationship that hopefully will last for a really long time.

So I'm working on it. =)

Other: Car broke. Shannon dad will fix.
Computer feeling ill. Need to get hard drive.
Cameron feeling weak and achey all the time. Week off at end of december hopefully fix.

that's about it.
