Daniel's report is due sometime this week. I'm going to hear about it Monday or Tuesday of next week, I believe. Depends on the "trickle-down" of the business.

Been ill. Stomach virus, I think. Or digestive system, actually. Makes it....interesting slogging my ass around ISU's campus.

Killed 7 tickets today. 11-12 came in. 11-12! That's more than I can usually close in two days! (or right about).

Wish I could get ahead, or even catch up. That would be nice. Maybe Christmas break will allow me the opportunity.

Heard something interesting the other day, someone told me what they had told Daniel.

"Cameron's got a good reputation on campus. Dell does not. They've abandoned him, and we notice things like that. We see the guy doing everything in his power to get these machines fixed, and still getting swamped. Don't think we don't notice."

Wonder if Daniel will include that little tidbit on his report? Somehow, as my confidence and respect for my employers wanes, I don't think so.

/me

Sorry, Z. Been a busy week, as I shall detail below.

The Company (non-Dell) sent a person up here from Oklahoma City, to assess the situation and see what could be done to streamline the processes that I use.

This was welcomed by me. Anything to make the job easier. When I set up shop at ISU, I had nobody -- repeat, nobody to tell me "Hey, this is what worked at ," or "No, if you do it that way it adds minutes to each ticket." It was just me, thrown into the situation of trying to stock a repair shop. Daniel-- for that is the fellow's name-- had the advantage of having superiors looking over his shoulder and helping to refine his methods.

Anyway, Daniel comes in to help. His shop in Oklahoma City covers about the same number of machines. Of course, he has five people to help him. I have none.

I didn't hear from my person at Dell what's going on in the myraid meetings and action items on their end. My other contacts keep telling me that it's just going to be me, that there's no money budgeted for a second tech-- but I have a feeling if Dell starts grumbling in that way only a multibillion-dollar company can, there'll be personnel added. So my hopes haven't died.

Daniel and I got the ticket count from ~44 to ~28 last week. That's busting ass. That's also two people. We were helped by a couple of low-volume days towards the end of the week, but we did indeed bust some ass.

I find out Tuesday what Daniel reported. I don't trust my outward impressions of Daniel, as he seems to be one that plays cards close to the chest, but we got along alright. He knows I can do the job-- hell, he saw me do the job.

Was he paid to bring back a truthful account of what he saw, or was he paid to tell them what they want to hear?
That's the question.
