Pitching
He isn't that tough to hit, but it's difficult to get good loft on his pitches and he seldom gives up the longball. When his release point drops below three-quarters, his fastball tends to hang in the strike zone. Zubov also has a decent changeup. He's almost as effective against lefthanders as he is versus righthanders.

Defense & Hitting
His pickoff move is only fair. Zubov has been regarded as a poor fielder throughout his career, and last year was no different. Zubov is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Zubov has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Paris Isotopes have been known to use Zubov as a pinch-runner on occasion.
