Bill Wood
Catcher | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
Wood never has been a patient hitter. Wood always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.

Baserunning & Defense
He doesn't get good jumps on grounders, but his routes are fine and his hands aren't bad. His arm is accurate enough. Wood isn't a good baserunner. He doesn't get good jumps on steals nor runs sharp routes around the bases.

2014 Outlook
If Wood doesn't perform, the Retired or Inactive Players won't hesitate to send him down to the minors.
