Eppa Williamson
Starting Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching He struggles with his command at times and is still learning to mix his pitches and set up hitters. His composure needs work. When Williamson starts getting hit, he gets mad and loses concentration. Sometimes I wish he'd just give up on throwing the changeup, it's like a BP ball! You know, some times I think I can throw harder than Williamson, and that's saying a lot. This man owns lefties. Put it this way, if your lineup is full of them, you might want rethink your lineup.
Defense & Hitting He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Basestealers have succeeded against Williamson because his pickoff move is weak for a lefthander. Williamson is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Williamson has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Williamson as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2014 Outlook But if you ask me, I'll pass on Williamson.
