This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. Welsh always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. The Free Agents do tend to sit Welsh when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball.

Baserunning & Defense
Though he managed to record his share of assists, his arm is just average. He generally takes one base at a time, though he'll take advantage if an outfielder gets lackadaisical.
