Burleigh Welcome
First Baseman | Toronto Dragons

Hitting
Welcome is one of the most powerful hitters in the game and can clear the fences in any part of the ballpark. I tell you, I've seen Welcome hit some majestic home runs. They're a thing of beauty. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. Welcome continues to use the opposite field far more often than most power hitters, though he has learned to turn on the ball when he gets a pitch to drive.

Baserunning & Defense
Welcome isn't a fluid first baseman, but he's not afraid to get dirty and gets the job done. His arm is accurate enough. Welcome isn't fast, but he's a heady baserunner who rarely gets thrown out.

2014 Outlook
In one full big league season, Welcome already has done more than what scouts projected when he came out of college.
