Hitting
The book on Virdin is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. The Free Agents do tend to sit Virdin when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball. You can expect Desmond Virdin to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.

Baserunning & Defense
Virdin doesn't read balls well off the bat, misses cutoff men consistently and floats throws to the infield. Desmond's arm leaves a little to be a desired. He has no speed at all and runs the bases conservatively.
