Hitting
The book on Valo is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him. He's a straight pull hitter whose power extends from the rightfield gap to the line.

Baserunning & Defense
Though he managed to record his share of assists, his arm is just average. Valo doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a couple bases each season without getting caught very often.
