Lamont Smolic
Center Fielder | Detroit Polar Bears

Hitting
In past seasons, Smolic has been a bit of a liability with men on base. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. Lamont Smolic has made a career of putting the ball to the opposite field. That's rare in this day and age. It's hard to explain but Lamont Smolic plays much better on the road then he does at home.

Baserunning & Defense
When his legs are healthy, Smolic is an excellent basestealer with good speed and first-step quickness. His arm and range are average, and he has a tendency to get lazy with his feet.

2014 Outlook
Smolic admits he probably never will have even average power.
