Steve Schilling
First Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players
Hitting He has the mental discipline to handle clutch situations. The book on Schilling is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. The Retired or Inactive Players do tend to sit Schilling when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball.
Baserunning & Defense He doesn't get good jumps on grounders, but his routes are fine and his hands aren't bad. His arm is accurate enough. His speed is below average and he's not a threat to steal.
