Hitting
Ryan is an excellent mistake hitter who belts middle-of-the-plate fastballs or hanging breaking balls. Ryan always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. Ryan tends to zone in on the power-alleys. Most of his outfield hits are to left and right center.

Baserunning & Defense
Ryan isn't a fluid second baseman, but he's not afraid to get dirty and gets the job done. His arm is accurate enough. Ryan is an intelligent baserunner with average speed, but he's not a basestealing threat.
