Hitting
Rothschild is an excellent mistake hitter who belts middle-of-the-plate fastballs or hanging breaking balls. In past seasons, Rothschild has been a bit of a liability with men on base. During the last two years, he has become more patient and gotten better loft on the ball. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. His strength is in the gaps.

Baserunning & Defense
He rarely makes a highlight play and struggles with balls to his right. Rothschild is an intelligent baserunner with average speed, but he's not a basestealing threat.
