Dontrell Rotblatt
Relief Pitcher | Detroit Polar Bears

Pitching
It's tough to get much loft on the ball against him, as he works down in the strike zone to begin with and his two-seamer produces mostly groundballs. No one questions this kid's heart. They do question why he just can't get it done late in the game. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success. It's hard to explain but Dontrell Rotblatt plays much better on the road then he does at home.

Defense & Hitting
His pickoff move is only fair. Rotblatt's follow-through leaves him in a vulnerable position, so he has trouble with comebackers. I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Rotblatt has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Detroit Polar Bears have been known to use Rotblatt as a pinch-runner on occasion.

2014 Outlook
Rotblatt has below average skills, even for the low minors. One has to expect the Detroit Polar Bears will give him his walking papers before the end of the season. I just don't know if The Detroit Polar Bears are ever going to get what they expect out of him.
