Kent Ritter
Starting Pitcher | Free Agents
Pitching Ritter forces hitters to keep the ball on the ground. He's a good late inning man, which is when being a pitcher really counts. The Free Agents hope he can work on his control a little bit. Every once and a while one slips away from him and either ends up at the backstop or in the right field bleachers. This man owns lefties. Put it this way, if your lineup is full of them, you might want rethink your lineup.
Defense & Hitting He doesn't have much of a pickoff move and he's slow getting the ball to home plate out of the set position. Ritter seems distracted after his delivery. He's sometimes out of position, fails to cover a base or doesn't back up throws. Ritter is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Ritter has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Free Agents have been known to use Ritter as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2014 Outlook I just don't know if The Free Agents are ever going to get what they expect out of him.
