Rettenmund never has been a patient hitter. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever. You can expect Ed Rettenmund to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.

Baserunning & Defense
Rettenmund doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a few bases each season without getting caught very often. Rettenmund plays mostly right field, where his mediocre range and throwing arm are less than ideal. He'd be better off in left.
