Tim Restelli
Starting Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching He's a pretty good ground-ball pitcher, which I like because ground balls stay in the park. Restelli can get into trouble with walks, and there's concern about him being able to maintain his stuff over the whole season. Restelli also has a decent changeup. Restelli also throws a screwball. Because he can't overpower hitters, Restelli has to fool them instead. His composure needs work. When Restelli starts getting hit, he gets mad and loses concentration. He's almost as effective against lefthanders as he is versus righthanders.
Defense & Hitting His pickoff move is merely average. He hurts himself by falling awkwardly off the mound in his follow-through, which allows too many balls to go through the middle for base hits. Restelli is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Restelli has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Restelli as a pinch-runner on occasion.
