Oliveras never has been a patient hitter. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. You can expect Red Oliveras to pull the ball.

Baserunning & Defense
He might not deliver for you at the plate, but Oliveras can certainly deliver in the field. He is an exceptional fielder. His arm is accurate enough. Oliveras is an intelligent baserunner with average speed, but he's not a basestealing threat.

2014 Outlook
If Oliveras doesn't perform, the Retired or Inactive Players won't hesitate to send him down to the minors.
