Eric Oates
Center Fielder | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
Oates never has been a patient hitter. Oates always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. The Retired or Inactive Players do tend to sit Oates when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball.

Baserunning & Defense
Oates isn't a fluid center fielder, but he's not afraid to get dirty and gets the job done. His arm is accurate enough. Oates isn't fast, but he's a heady baserunner who rarely gets thrown out.

2014 Outlook
If Oates doesn't perform, the Retired or Inactive Players won't hesitate to send him down to the minors.
