Sinclair Montovonni
Starting Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching He's a pretty good ground-ball pitcher, which I like because ground balls stay in the park. Montovonni can get into trouble with walks, and there's concern about him being able to maintain his stuff over the whole season. Montovonni also has a decent changeup. His stuff becomes less sharp as he gets into the late innings. You know, some times I think I can throw harder than Montovonni, and that's saying a lot. He traditionally fares better against lefties.
Defense & Hitting He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. He never has controlled the running game. Montovonni is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Montovonni has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Montovonni as a pinch-runner on occasion.
