Tom Meads
Third Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players
Hitting He has the mental discipline to handle clutch situations. Meads always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him.
Baserunning & Defense Meads's range at third baseman isn't exceptional, but he has very soft hands and a strong, accurate arm. He's very dependable. Meads doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a few bases each season without getting caught very often.
