Joe McMichael
First Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
McMichael is an excellent mistake hitter who belts middle-of-the-plate fastballs or hanging breaking balls. McMichael always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He likes to pull the ball, but don't be surprised if he puts the ball the opposite field from time to time. He's a smart batter and takes good note of how the fielders are shading him.

Baserunning & Defense
McMichael isn't a fluid first baseman, but he's not afraid to get dirty and gets the job done. His arm is accurate enough. McMichael doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a handful of bases each season without getting caught very often.
