Tom Matarazzo
Starting Pitcher | London Clash
Pitching Matarazzo's bread and butter pitch is his slider. I've seen it baffle many a right handed batter. The bottom also falls out of his very good changeup. Matarazzo can get into trouble with walks, and there's concern about him being able to maintain his stuff over the whole season. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. He traditionally fares better against lefties.
Defense & Hitting For a lefty, his move to first base is average at best, and he has a tendency to forget about runners at second, thereby creating opportunities to swipe third. He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Matarazzo is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Matarazzo has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The London Clash have been known to use Matarazzo as a pinch-runner on occasion.
