Jeff Martin
Catcher | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
The book on Martin is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever.

Baserunning & Defense
Martin isn't a fluid catcher, but he's not afraid to get dirty and gets the job done. Runners take advantage of his weak arm. Martin doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a few bases each season without getting caught very often.
