Pitching
Malloy is a control pitcher; when he's on he has pinpoint control. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. Malloy also has a decent changeup. He tends to work slowly when in a jam, which just makes his problems worse by lulling his fielders to sleep. His stuff becomes less sharp as he gets into the late innings. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.

Defense & Hitting
Malloy uses a slide step to keep runners close. Malloy is nothing special in the field. Malloy is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Malloy has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Houston RedNexx have been known to use Malloy as a pinch-runner on occasion.

2014 Outlook
I don't say this often, but I'll say it for Malloy: he's one of the highest rated pitchers on my scouting sheet.
