Hector Koch
Starting Pitcher | Free Agents
Pitching Koch likes to get hitters looking down and away, then ties them up by coming inside with hard stuff, getting a lot of groundball outs. He's a good late inning man, which is when being a pitcher really counts. He struggles with his command at times and is still learning to mix his pitches and set up hitters. He can hit 90 MPH but is too smart to try to get his fastball past most hitters. He's almost as effective against lefthanders as he is versus righthanders.
Defense & Hitting He has a fair pickoff move and isn't a particularly easy target for basestealers. A shaky fielder, he's slow to react to grounders and often looks unsure on his throws to the bases. Koch is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Koch has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Free Agents have been known to use Koch as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2014 Outlook I just don't know if The Free Agents are ever going to get what they expect out of him.
