John Klesko
Starting Pitcher | Free Agents
Pitching Klesko can get into trouble with walks, and there's concern about him being able to maintain his stuff over the whole season. Because he can't overpower hitters, Klesko has to fool them instead. Sometimes I wish he'd just give up on throwing the changeup, it's like a BP ball! This man owns lefties. Put it this way, if your lineup is full of them, you might want rethink your lineup.
Defense & Hitting His slow delivery makes him fairly easy to steal upon, but Klesko helps himself by holding runners with throws to first, and with slide steps and varied deliveries to home. Klesko is nothing special in the field. Klesko is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Klesko has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Free Agents have been known to use Klesko as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2014 Outlook It's really a shame he hasn't caught on somewhere. He might be a decent addition to someone's bench.
