Don Kane
Starting Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching He's got a really stong arm, so he can blow it by you on occasion. He's a good late inning man, which is when being a pitcher really counts. Kane's fastball is a tick above average, in the 90-91 MPH range on most nights. The one thing I must say I don't like about Kane is how easily rattled he gets. If he makes a mistake to a hitter and the guy winds up on second or third, you can pretty much count on the guy scoring. This man owns lefties. Put it this way, if your lineup is full of them, you might want rethink your lineup.
Defense & Hitting He has a quick pickoff move, but sometimes concentrates on pitching so much that he forgets about runners. He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Kane is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Kane has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Kane as a pinch-runner on occasion.
