He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. The Retired or Inactive Players do tend to sit Hottman when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball.

Baserunning & Defense
When you play Hottman you're not putting him in for his glove. His arm is accurate enough. He has below-average speed and is stiff on the basepath. He's poor on a straight steal but has some success at reading pitchers and working a delayed steal.
