Don Hollmig
Starting Pitcher | Toronto Dragons
Pitching Though Hollmig can't just blow the ball by hitters, he has some giddyup on his fastball. Hollmig throws a nice sinker... The rookies never seem to know when it's coming. His stuff becomes less sharp as he gets into the late innings. If you're going in to face Hollmig, better be wearing plenty of protection. He's wild. The running movement on his pitches makes life tougher on lefties than righties.
Defense & Hitting For a lefty, his move to first base is average at best, and he has a tendency to forget about runners at second, thereby creating opportunities to swipe third. Hollmig is nothing special in the field. Hollmig is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Hollmig has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Toronto Dragons have been known to use Hollmig as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2014 Outlook If Hollmig doesn't perform, the Toronto Dragons won't hesitate to send him down to the minors. I just don't know if The Toronto Dragons are ever going to get what they expect out of him.
