Dutch Hines
Second Baseman | Free Agents
Hitting The book on Hines is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Let's face facts: Hines hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever. You can expect Dutch Hines to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.
Baserunning & Defense Minor league scouts have accused Hines of being a liability in the field. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par. Hines's absolutely no threat to steal and doubles must be obvious for him to chance advancing.
