Larry Hershiser
Catcher | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
Hershiser never has been a patient hitter. With his slap-hitting approach, Hershiser always hits like he already has two strikes. The results are usually groundballs or line drives to the opposite field. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him. You can expect Larry Hershiser to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.

Baserunning & Defense
His defense is solid but unspectacular. Runners take advantage of his weak arm. Hershiser isn't a good baserunner. He doesn't get good jumps on steals nor runs sharp routes around the bases.
