Hitting
The book on Hendrick is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.

Baserunning & Defense
Hendrick is a poor defensive catcher. He isn't very mobile or adept at blocking balls in the dirt. Runners take advantage of his weak arm. Hendrick often has trouble scoring from second base on singles and goes from first to third only on hits to right field.
