Davidlee Encinas
Starting Pitcher | Detroit Polar Bears
Pitching Encinas will give up home runs, but rarely with the game on the line. Encinas also has a solid changeup that he'll use at any point in the count. Encinas can get into trouble with walks, and there's concern about him being able to maintain his stuff over the whole season. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.
Defense & Hitting Encinas is nothing special in the field. Encinas doesn't make much of an attempt to combat the running game. Basestealers ran at will last year. Encinas is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Encinas has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Detroit Polar Bears have been known to use Encinas as a pinch-runner on occasion.
