Hitting
Dolan is an excellent mistake hitter who belts middle-of-the-plate fastballs or hanging breaking balls. But Jake's detracters are quick to call attention to his ongoing struggles at the plate with men on base. Dolan always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. Dolan uses the entire field and typically produces a couple of hitting streaks of 10 or more games during a season.

Baserunning & Defense
Dolan plays a near-flawless first baseman, making very few errors. His arm is slightly above average with a quick release. He generally takes one base at a time, though he'll take advantage if an outfielder gets lackadaisical.
