Frank Dinneen
Shortstop | Houston RedNexx
Hitting One thing's for sure, late in the game you're glad you have him on the field. Dinneen has quick hands and is able to cover the entire plate. Dinneen quickly learned that he could drive the ball out the opposite way. That knowledge has made him a better hitter because he now uses the entire field. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. Dinneen uses the entire field and typically produces a couple of hitting streaks of 10 or more games during a season.
Baserunning & Defense Dinneen isn't a fluid shortstop, but he's not afraid to get dirty and gets the job done. His arm is accurate enough. Dinneen doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a few bases each season without getting caught very often.
