Bienvenido Diering
First Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players
Hitting He has the mental discipline to handle clutch situations. The book on Diering is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Let's face facts: Diering hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.
Baserunning & Defense His glovework leaves a lot to be desired. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par. Diering isn't a good baserunner. He doesn't get good jumps on steals nor runs sharp routes around the bases.
