Hitting
The book on Devereaux is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. I tell you, it's a real trip to watch this kid play. He gives 110% all the time... unfortunately that means he tends to run out of gas as the game wears on. With his slap-hitting approach, Devereaux always hits like he already has two strikes. The results are usually groundballs or line drives to the opposite field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. You can expect Gonzo Devereaux to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.

Baserunning & Defense
His speed is below average and he's not a threat to steal. Minor league scouts have accused Devereaux of being a liability in the field. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par.
