Keqon Defelice
Starting Pitcher | Paris Isotopes
Pitching He's a finesse pitcher, relying on movement and location. He's got a really stong arm, so he can blow it by you on occasion. Defelice has to keep the ball down, especially against lefties, or he gets hit hard and often. Defelice's fastball is a tick above average, in the 90-91 MPH range on most nights. Sometimes I wish he'd just give up on throwing the changeup, it's like a BP ball! He stays away from lefthanders, keeping them off balance with curves and changeups.
Defense & Hitting Runners do not get a good jump on Defelice... many have noted that his motion is difficult to pick up. He tends to fall off slightly to the first-base side of the mound, making him vulnerable to bunts toward third base. He makes up for that minor flaw by being aggressive in fielding his position.
2014 Outlook Defelice has impressed at the A-ball level. Look for the Paris Isotopes to give him a shot in Double or Triple A before the year is up. I really like what this guy brings to the table.
