Randy Deagle
Catcher | Chicago Windbags
Hitting Deagle is an excellent mistake hitter who belts middle-of-the-plate fastballs or hanging breaking balls. Deagle quickly learned that he could drive the ball out the opposite way. That knowledge has made him a better hitter because he now uses the entire field. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. Left field, right field, center: this guy puts it all over.
Baserunning & Defense Deagle is a real dynamo in the field. It's been said that his glove saves at least a run a game, and I tend to agree with that. His arm is accurate enough. Deagle isn't fast, but he's a heady baserunner who rarely gets thrown out.
2014 Outlook Deagle has impressed at the A-ball level. Look for the Chicago Windbags to give him a shot in Double or Triple A before the year is up.
