Carlos Compton
Starting Pitcher | Free Agents
Pitching He's a good late inning man, which is when being a pitcher really counts. Compton also has a decent changeup. His pitches lose some movement when he pitches from the stretch position. If you're going in to face Compton, better be wearing plenty of protection. He's wild. You know, some times I think I can throw harder than Compton, and that's saying a lot. He traditionally fares better against lefties.
Defense & Hitting Compton expects to be an active participant in the infield defense and does a good job of getting to grounders back up the middle. His move to first isn't very good, but his delivery is fairly quick and he isn't overly vulnerable to the stolen base. Compton is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Compton has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Free Agents have been known to use Compton as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2014 Outlook But if you ask me, I'll pass on Compton.
