Hitting
The book on Catmull is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. But Kelby's detracters are quick to call attention to his ongoing struggles at the plate with men on base. Catmull always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him.

Baserunning & Defense
Catmull is an intelligent baserunner with average speed, but he's not a basestealing threat. His glovework leaves a lot to be desired. His arm is accurate enough.
