In past seasons, Bruton has been a bit of a liability with men on base. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. The Dublin Deadbeat Drunks do tend to sit Bruton when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball. You can expect Pat Bruton to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.

Baserunning & Defense
Bruton doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a few bases each season without getting caught very often. When you play Bruton you're not putting him in for his glove. His arm is accurate enough.

2014 Outlook
In one full big league season, Bruton already has done more than what scouts projected when he came out of college.
