Sandy Brookens
Second Baseman | Houston RedNexx

Hitting
He sometimes will press in clutch situations and chase fastballs up and out of the zone. Brookens always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. His strength is in the gaps.

Baserunning & Defense
He doesn't get good jumps on grounders, but his routes are fine and his hands aren't bad. His arm is accurate enough. Brookens doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a handful of bases each season without getting caught very often.
