Mickey Bochte
Catcher | Free Agents
Hitting One of the nice things about Mickey is that he's a real clutch hitter. If it's late in the game, and there are men on base, you want this guy at the plate. The book on Bochte is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him. You can expect Mickey Bochte to pull the ball.
Baserunning & Defense Bochte isn't fast, but he's a heady baserunner who rarely gets thrown out. Bochte is a poor defensive catcher. He isn't very mobile or adept at blocking balls in the dirt. Runners take advantage of his weak arm.
