Vinny Blackburn
Starting Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players

Pitching
A groundball pitcher, Blackburn needs to have sharp command to succeed. Blackburn also has a solid changeup that he'll use at any point in the count. The Retired or Inactive Players hope he can work on his control a little bit. Every once and a while one slips away from him and either ends up at the backstop or in the right field bleachers. Because he can't overpower hitters, Blackburn has to fool them instead. His stuff becomes less sharp as he gets into the late innings. He traditionally fares better against lefties.

Defense & Hitting
He has a fair pickoff move and isn't a particularly easy target for basestealers. Blackburn has been regarded as a poor fielder throughout his career, and last year was no different. Blackburn is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Blackburn has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Blackburn as a pinch-runner on occasion.
