Larry Bevacqua
First Baseman | Houston RedNexx

Hitting
Bevacqua is an excellent mistake hitter who belts middle-of-the-plate fastballs or hanging breaking balls. During the last two years, he has become more patient and gotten better loft on the ball. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him. While his home-run power is almost exclusively to left field, he hits doubles everywhere.

Baserunning & Defense
He doesn't get good jumps on grounders, but his routes are fine and his hands aren't bad. Bevacqua has one of the strongest arms among first basemen. Bevacqua isn't fast, but he's a heady baserunner who rarely gets thrown out.
