Hitting
This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. Beckman always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. The switch-hitting Beckman has better plate coverage and more power from the left side than when he bats righthanded.

Baserunning & Defense
Beckman is a poor defensive catcher. He isn't very mobile or adept at blocking balls in the dirt. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par. He has no speed at all and runs the bases conservatively.
