Hitting
Bean never has been a patient hitter. In past seasons, Bean has been a bit of a liability with men on base. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.

Baserunning & Defense
He rarely makes a highlight play and struggles with balls to his right. Bean isn't fast, but he's a heady baserunner who rarely gets thrown out.
