Pitching
He produces tons of groundballs with his downward movement. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. Axsom also has a decent changeup. The Retired or Inactive Players hope he can work on his control a little bit. Every once and a while one slips away from him and either ends up at the backstop or in the right field bleachers. The one thing I must say I don't like about Axsom is how easily rattled he gets. If he makes a mistake to a hitter and the guy winds up on second or third, you can pretty much count on the guy scoring. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.

Defense & Hitting
He's reasonably quick to the plate but needs to vary his pickoff moves. Good baserunners appeared to time him last year. Axsom never has been a good fielder.
